As a duo, called “As time goes by”, Thomas Breitsameter (violin) and Janusz Myschur (accordion) present a musical Panopticon with hits and evergreens from more than 70 years of salon and pop music.

The musician’s repertoire encompasses French musette waltzes, fox trots, fiery tangos and well-known jazz standards, famous movie themes, and international hits.

The rather rare combination of “violin and accordion” is virtually predestined to plunge into the shallows of the genre uncontrollably along with the Capri-Fishermen, to trace the virtuosity of French musette waltzes in the “Rue la Rose” and to dream of the Lago Maggiore with deep tango-drunken melancholy. The world-famous tune “as time goes by”, from the classic movie “Casablanca”, awakes memories of Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.

Some hits and evergreens will therefore be played on a so-called “straw fiddle”, an instrument with a bell.
